Manoj Jarange marches towards Mumbai, halts at Shrigonda today

Manoj Jarange Patil has once again set out towards Mumbai in support of the demand for Maratha reservation. A halt is planned at Shrigonda in Ahilyanagar district along the route of his agitation, where he will stop today, September 16. Jarange Patil's journey towards Mumbai has begun, and as per the planned route he will spend tonight at Shrigonda.

Jarange Patil has repeatedly placed the demand for Maratha reservation, along with other demands, before the government, and has also warned the government of agitation from time to time. However, the government has not taken a firm decision on these demands as expected. As a result, he has once again taken the stance of agitating in Mumbai to pressure the government, and this journey has begun in that context.

Jamkhed is an important point on the route of Jarange Patil's march to Mumbai. Maratha activists there have made elaborate preparations to welcome him. Large posters have been put up in villages and along the roads, and activists have themselves come out onto the roads for the welcome.

To ensure that the protesters accompanying Jarange Patil face no inconvenience, special arrangements for drinking water and breakfast have been made at various points in Jamkhed. Activists have also set up stalls offering chivda and other food items. All these arrangements have been made to support Jarange Patil's agitation, and water and breakfast are being provided along the way to all the protesters travelling with him.

According to the activists, the government should now take a firm decision on the demands for Maratha reservation. Some activists from the Muslim community are also said to have extended support to this agitation. Activists said the government should take a firm stand to accept the demands of the Maratha community, and expressed full support for the Mumbai agitation.
