THE GRIEVANCE OFFICER

How to complain about anything PT24 has published or done, who reads the complaint, how long they have, and where you can go if the answer does not satisfy you.

Last updated 11 September 2026

Why this page exists

Rule 11 of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 requires a publisher like PT24 to name a grievance officer, to publish how to reach them, and to keep to a clock. This is that page, and the clock is at the foot of it.

What to bring here

Anything about what this paper has published or how it behaves. There is no category a complaint has to fit.

A story
Wrong, unfair, intrusive, or published without asking you.
A photograph or a video
Yours, used without permission, or someone in it who should not be.
The law
Something on this site you believe to be unlawful.
Your information
Anything about what PT24 holds about you. The same officer answers requests under the data protection law, and the DPDP consent page sets out what you can ask for.
An advertisement
What one claimed, or where it appeared.

What to send

Enough for the officer to find the thing you are complaining about and to reach you with an answer.

The page
Its address, or the headline and the date it ran.
What is wrong
In your own words, and what you would have us do.
Who you are
A name and an address we can reply to.
Anything that helps
A document, a photograph, a link. Send what you have.

What happens, and when

Within 24 hours
The officer acknowledges your complaint and gives it a number.
Within 15 days
The officer decides it and tells you the decision and the reasons for it. If it takes a correction, the correction is made and logged.
If we cannot decide it in time
You are told why before the 15 days are up, and told when you will hear.

If the answer does not satisfy you

The officer's decision is this paper's answer and not the end of the matter. Three doors stay open, and using one does not close the others.

The appeal committee
A Grievance Appellate Committee constituted under the same 2021 Rules will hear an appeal against the officer's decision, normally within 30 days of it.
The Data Protection Board of India
For a complaint about your personal information, once you have brought it here first, as the DPDP Act 2023 requires.
The courts
Nothing on this page takes away a remedy the law gives you.

What this page is not

It is not the quickest way to get a fact corrected: the desk named on the story is, and the corrections page says how. And it is not a way to have criticism removed. PT24 will correct what is wrong and will not unpublish what is merely unwelcome.

Who to write to

Samadhan Singh, grievance@primetime24.com.

A complaint is acknowledged within 24 hours and decided within 15 days.

The rest of the house: Who we are, The editorial charter, Corrections, Ownership.

What you read this site under: Privacy, DPDP consent, Terms.

May we count this visit? PT24 uses Google Analytics to see which stories are read and on what. It is switched off until you say yes, nothing is counted while you decide, and you can change your mind on You at any time. What we would collect
