Hit-and-run collision in Surnagar leaves three seriously injured
On September 10 at 9 PM in Surnagar, Kalmana, a red mini Cooper car traveling at high speed collided with parked vehicles, motorcycles and a pedestrian near a puncture shop. Three people were seriously injured: Ashwin Gajbhiye (Bullet motorcycle rider), Pawan Yadav (TVS moped rider) and Bhagesh Ganesh Domde (pedestrian, 26 years old). The driver fled without helping the injured.
The incident occurred near Sri Auto Spare Parts puncture shop, in front of ICICI Bank's Surnagar branch. According to witnesses, the red mini Cooper came from the direction of Sarza Bar and struck several vehicles. During the collision sequence:
- Parked MG Hector white car (MH-49-BR-7469) sustained severe damage
- Ashwin Gajbhiye, rider of Bullet motorcycle (MH-49-CV-7332), suffered serious injuries
- Pawan Yadav, rider of TVS moped (MH-49-DB-3754), suffered serious injuries
- Pedestrian Bhagesh Ganesh Domde (26) suffered serious injuries
All three injured were taken to different hospitals by local residents. The mini Cooper's number plate fell at the scene, revealing registration CG-04-NQ-6566. The driver fled without providing assistance.
FIR number 0870/2026 was filed at Kalmana Police Station under Indian Penal Code Sections 281, 125(a), 125(b), 324(5) and Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules Sections 134, 184, 177. Inspector Praveen Mudhkarao Kale is investigating.
