Every correction PT24 has made, in one place, newest first. A paper that corrects in private has not corrected; this page exists so the record is as easy to find as the mistake was.

How PT24 corrects
A correction is printed on the story it belongs to, at the foot of it, and it carries the date it was logged rather than the date of the story. The wrong words come out and the correction stays, so the page shows both that it was wrong and that it changed.
A story is never quietly edited into a different story. If the meaning changes, the change is logged here and on the story.
What is a correction and what is not
- A correction
- Something we published was wrong: a fact, a name, a number, an attribution, a photograph's caption.
- An update
- The story moved on. A running story gains updates with times against them, and that is the news changing rather than the paper being wrong.
- A clarification
- What we published was true and read as something it did not mean. It is logged here too, said as a clarification.
- A takedown
- Rare, and only where the law requires it. The story goes, the log says that a story was removed and on what date.
Asking for a correction
Write to the desk named on the story, or use the contact page and say which story it is. Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, what the right version is and how you know.
You do not have to be the person the story is about. If the desk does not settle it with you, the grievance officer will, within the times set out on that page.
