Man selling peanuts, chikki attacked with knife over payment dispute in Nagpur
Three arrested after a street vendor was stabbed for asking customers to pay for peanuts and chikki in Nagpur's Hudkeshwar area
Nagpur: A man who sells peanuts and chikki from a handcart to earn a living was seriously injured after criminals attacked him with a knife when he asked them to pay for the items. The incident took place in the Hudkeshwar police station area. Police have arrested three accused.
The injured man, Rohit Kumar Verma, sells peanuts and chikki from a handcart. On September 14, he was going from Uday Nagar when the accused stopped him and bought peanuts and chikki from him. When Rohit asked for payment, they began abusing him. They threatened him and stabbed him with a knife before fleeing, leaving him injured.
Hudkeshwar police have registered a case of attempted murder and arrested the accused: Khushal alias Carry Mohan Pawaiya of New Subhedar Layout, Pushpendra Mahesh Kashyap of Ayodhya Nagar, and Kartik Mahendra Kashyap of Sakkardara. Kartik has prior cases registered against him.
