Jarange Patil alleges plot to fire shots during Mumbai march, targets Shinde-Fadnavis

Ahead of the Maratha agitation planned in Mumbai, Manoj Jarange Patil's statement from Antarwali Sarati on Sunday has stirred up Maharashtra's politics. Jarange leveled serious allegations against Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis, claiming that a conspiracy is being hatched to target him by creating disturbances during his Mumbai march.

According to Jarange, Shinde and some people from the BJP could infiltrate the march and create chaos. He also said a plan has been made to fire shots during the march. "They will not kill Marathas, they will only shoot me," he claimed, making clear that he would not back down because of this.

Jarange said he would reach Mumbai on September 19 and sit on a hunger strike at Azad Maidan from 10 am. He said permission has been sought for the hunger strike and that he would go to Mumbai while abiding by the law. Questioning the government, he said, "What is my fault, am I breaking the law?"

During this, Jarange also made an emotional appeal to the Maratha community. He told activists that if they do not wish to stand with him or are afraid, they should stay home, but if they come with him to Mumbai, they should also come for his last rites afterward.

Jarange also targeted Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Issuing a direct warning, he said, "I accept dying, but I will not bow before you," adding that the agitation would not be withdrawn under any inquiry or pressure.

He also raised questions about Eknath Shinde, saying that he had earlier trusted Shinde and obtained a government resolution from Vashi, and asked what the government's stance is now.

Jarange's allegations, coming just before the Mumbai agitation, have intensified the exchange of accusations in Maharashtra's politics once again. All eyes are on how the government and the concerned leaders respond to this claim.
