Manoj Jarange Patil leaves Antarwali for Mumbai, urges Maratha unity

Manoj Jarange Patil, who has been leading the fight for Maratha reservation, has finally set off for Mumbai. Leaving Antarwali Sarati, where he was on a hunger strike, he is now headed to Mumbai to stage his protest at Azad Maidan. The atmosphere at Antarwali turned emotional as he left.

As he got into the vehicle, Jarange could not hold back his tears. Speaking to a news channel, he said clearly that he would continue the fight for the welfare of the children of his community, no matter what. Taking an aggressive stance, he said he would never bow before the government and would not stop until the demand for Maratha reservation was fully met.

Expressing his feelings, Manoj Jarange Patil said, "Nothing matters more to me than the children of my community. The children of my community are in trouble, and I have set out only for their welfare. The government thinks I will bow before them, but I can never betray my community by leaving its children's cause unfinished. They will kill me, that is why I am going to Azad Maidan. I will not let my community suffer, and I will die fighting."

Jarange Patil then appealed to his supporters to maintain peace. He said, "We must have faith in the god of justice and treat that as our only permission. My appeal to everyone is to remain completely peaceful. I will fight for your children. The government has surrounded me from all sides, you just stay with me. Whether I live or not, you must make our community great."

He further said, "Do not stay attached to any party, stay connected only to your community. I am going to Mumbai, all of you come to give me your blessings. If I have to be killed, kill me, but I will not step back without reservation."

Growing emotional again as he spoke, Jarange Patil wiped away his tears and said he would not step back until reservation was fully implemented. He said clearly that even if the government tried to kill him, he would go straight to Azad Maidan and sit there.

Manoj Jarange Patil has filed a third application with the Mumbai Police for permission to protest in Mumbai. After permission was denied twice before, this third application seeks permission for only 50 people to sit on a hunger strike. The new application states clearly that all rules and conditions will be fully complied with during the protest, and that the protest will take place only in the time slot fixed for September 18.

According to information received, the chances of the police granting permission for this protest remain very low. Ganeshotsav is currently underway, which could raise major concerns for security and law and order and put heavy pressure on the police. Because of this, permission for such protests is likely to be granted only after Ganeshotsav.
