Nagpur: Constable Manish Meshram, who fled with 20,000 rupees in trap money during an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raid at Jaripatka police station, has not been caught even three days later.

There is hope that he may be traced once the ACB custody of head constable Sachin Tayde, who was arrested along with him, comes to an end. The ACB had arrested head constable Sachin Tayde on September 16 in a case of taking a bribe of 20,000 rupees.

Meshram was also harassing the complainant for a bribe along with Tayde. The two had been demanding 40,000 rupees from the complainant by threatening to take action against him in a non-cognizable (NC) case registered against him. Later, they pressured him to settle the matter for 20,000 rupees.

The complainant handed over 20,000 rupees during the trap. Meshram fled with the money and has not been traced since. Tayde has been taken into five days of custody.

In connection with the case, Jaripatka police station in-charge Anil Taksande has been attached to the control room.
