Seven More Bodies Recovered From Upper Trishuli 1 Tunnel as Rescue Efforts Press On

Search teams in Nepal have pulled an additional seven bodies from the iron mesh inside the Audit-3 tunnel at the Upper Trishuli 1 Hydropower Project site, bringing the death toll retrieved from that specific sector to 13. The Nepali Army confirmed the grim milestone in a Friday evening update, noting that heavy machinery is also being utilized for excavation at other impacted locations like Trishuli 3A and 3B. 

To combat the widespread devastation, more than 8,700 military personnel have been stationed across severely affected regions spanning from Rasuwa to Nawalparasi. Humanitarian and logistical operations are ongoing, with military aircraft successfully evacuating 4,195 people and heavy-lift drones delivering over 30,000 kilograms of emergency supplies to isolated areas. Furthermore, security units are actively clearing blocked roadways along the Prithvi Highway and constructing a temporary bridge over the Betrawati River to re-establish vital connectivity.
