Bee attack during Gauri immersion injures eight women in Chandrapur

A shocking incident occurred in Sawali in Chandrapur district on Tuesday morning during Gauri immersion. Bees suddenly attacked women who had gathered at the local pond for the immersion. A total of eight devotees were injured in the attack, and there was chaos and a stampede at the pond premises for some time.

According to information received, a large crowd of women had gathered at the local pond in Sawali around 8:30 am on Tuesday, the 15th, for Gauri immersion. There was a large beehive on a banyan tree on the bank of the pond. As the women were preparing for the immersion, bees from the hive suddenly swarmed and attacked the women present. The incident occurred without any warning amid the religious fervour of Gauri immersion.

The sudden bee attack caused widespread panic among the women present. Women ran here and there to save themselves, and there was chaos at the pond premises for some time. Eight women were injured by bee stings, including Varsha Suresh Kosre, Chhaya Sanjay Kosre, Rupali Satyawan Kosre and Sheetal Aniket Kosre. Besides these four named women, four more women who were stung by the bees were also among the injured.

Given the seriousness of the incident, the injured women were immediately admitted to the rural hospital in Sawali, where they were treated at once. The hospital said that after treatment, all the injured women are currently in stable condition.

During the stampede and chaos caused by the bee attack, a gold ornament belonging to Rupali Satyawan Kosre also went missing from her neck. In the hurried commotion of the incident, no one noticed when or where the ornament fell or was lost.

The unfortunate incident, which occurred amid religious fervour, left an atmosphere of fear and disappointment in the Sawali area for some time. The women and local residents gathered for the Gauri immersion were shaken by the sudden mishap, which dampened the immersion celebrations for a while.
