Woman raped after being lured with promise of viral Instagram reels
A Nagpur woman was raped after a man she met through Instagram reels threatened her and her family; he has been arrested.
Nagpur: A married woman was raped after being lured with the promise of making her Instagram reels go viral. The victim, who works at a private firm, is fond of making reels on Instagram. Through this, she became friends with Amir Akhtar Hussain, a resident of Gajanan Nagar in Akola.
The accused promised the woman that he would edit her videos to make them more attractive and get them to go viral on Instagram. With this promise, he grew close to her. After some time, the woman grew suspicious and stopped talking to the accused. Following this, Amir began threatening her. He started coming to her house and threatened to tell her husband everything and to kill her children.
He took the woman to a hotel in Nandanvan and forced himself on her. After that, he kept pressuring her to repeat the act. The victim filed a complaint at Wathoda police station. PSI Pooja Shelke registered a case after investigation and arrested Amir.
