A meeting of the Buldhana district executive of the Maharashtra Prantik Tailik Mahasabha was held recently, at which district president Subhash Devhade announced the new executives of the women's wing and the youth wing. The meeting aimed to expand the organisation and strengthen its ties with women and youth, for which new teams for both wings were declared.
Journalist Sushma Raut was elected women's district president for the fourth time in a row. Tanaji Ramdas Paithane was chosen as district president of the youth wing, while Ashwinitai Kshirsagar was named women's district vice-president.
Sushma Raut has capably held the responsibility of women's district president for several years. On her initiative, a state-level bride-groom introduction meet was organised at Shegaon, through which several marriages were fixed. She has also visited different villages in Buldhana district to present the role of the Maharashtra Prantik Tailik Mahasabha to members of the community, and has continually worked to bring the Teli community together.
Sushma Raut has recently also entered the legal profession. She is highly educated and has a strong ability to persuade and mobilise people, along with a good understanding of social issues, which has built her standing in the community. She has also worked for several years as the Deulgaon Raja taluka correspondent for the Deshonnati newspaper. It is believed that her fourth term as women's district president will further strengthen the organisation's women's wing.
Ashwinitai Kshirsagar, elected women's district vice-president, is also a mature public speaker, and the organisation will benefit from her experience and work in organising women.
Meanwhile, Tanaji Ramdas Paithane, an energetic worker from Kolwad village in Buldhana taluka, has been chosen as district president of the youth wing. The responsibility of connecting youth to the organisation and building an effective role for them on various community issues now rests with him.
