Sanjay Raut: farmers in crisis while ministers enjoy garba and DJ music

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP and party chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut launched a sharp attack on the state government and ruling ministers while speaking to reporters in Nagpur. He said erratic and delayed monsoon rains have once again pushed farmers across Maharashtra, especially in the Vidarbha region, to the brink of drought and crisis.

Raut said conditions are so bad that farmers are being driven to the point of suicide, but instead of reviewing farmers' problems, soyabean prices and the drought, the chief minister and cabinet ministers from Vidarbha are caught up in garba, DJ music, Pakistan and political point-scoring.

Speaking on the administrative guidelines issued in Nagpur over DJ sound systems and recent controversies around them, Raut said loud DJ music harms the health of heart patients, the elderly and children. He pointed out that Nagpur is also the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Raut demanded a strict, uniform guideline on the use of DJ sound systems not just for one city but for the entire country, and that it be strictly enforced.

Raut then targeted Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis over the state's recurring paper leak cases. He alleged that despite being in power for the last 10 years, every recruitment exam, whether NEET or MPSC, has seen malpractice. Raut claimed that workers and office-bearers of the ruling party are involved in these paper leak rackets.

Raut further said the entire MPSC examination and recruitment system has completely broken down, so the existing commission should be dismissed at once and fresh, transparent examinations conducted. He said merely setting up a task force is just an administrative formality and will not solve the real problem.
