Rajura police seize DJ equipment worth Rs 12.6 lakh, book two for unpermitted show

Police have taken major action in Rajura against those playing DJ and sound systems without permission. Police seized goods worth Rs 12.6 lakh from in front of the new bus stop.

Two men from Ballarpur have been booked in the case. The action was carried out by the crime detection squad led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Laxman Lokare.

Rajura police carried out the action against those violating government orders by playing DJ and sound systems in a public place without permission. Police had received a tip-off that a DJ was being played illegally on a vehicle in front of the new bus stop in Rajura. Acting on this information, Assistant Sub-Inspector Laxman Lokare and his team reached the spot and found preparations underway to play a DJ on a Mahindra Bolero pickup vehicle bearing registration number MH-34-BZ-5017.

Police asked the driver and owner of the vehicle present there for a government permit to play the DJ or band, but they did not have any valid permit. In the case of causing noise pollution by playing loud DJ sound systems in a public place without permission and violating government orders, police acted immediately and seized the DJ equipment and the vehicle. The DJ owner and operator, Ravi Satish Eknakar, aged 28, resident of Fulsing Naik Ward, Ballarshah, and the vehicle driver Sachin Inchulal Saroj, aged 22, resident of Pandit Deendayal Ward, Ballarshah, have been apprehended in the case. Both accused have been booked at Rajura police station under Crime No. 730/2026 under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and Sections 38 and 136 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.

In this action, police seized goods worth around Rs 12.6 lakh from the spot. This included a Mahindra Bolero pickup vehicle (number MH-34-BZ-5017) worth Rs 8 lakh, two sound tops of the Dynotic company worth Rs 1 lakh, four sound base units of the Kresh company worth Rs 2 lakh, one machine of the Crown company worth Rs 40,000, one mixer of the Coiner company worth Rs 20,000 and one generator of the Kirloskar company worth Rs 1 lakh.

The action was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Ayush Nopani, Additional Superintendent of Police Ishwar Katkade and Assistant Superintendent of Police Kumar Sushant, under the leadership of Police Inspector Nitin Chincholkar. The crime detection squad's Assistant Sub-Inspector Laxman Lokare, Head Constable Kishor Tumram, Constable Vicky Nirvan, Anup Dange, and police personnel Shafiq Shaikh, Milind Jambhule, Ramesh Bassi and Rajiv Dubey played key roles in the operation. Police administration has warned that similar strict action will continue against those disturbing public peace and violating noise pollution rules by playing DJ systems without permission.
