Revenue department's additional chief secretary Vikas Kharge tours Wardha offices

Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department Vikas Kharge visited several offices of the department in Wardha district today for an inspection. During the visit, he said at various places that the revenue department has become closer to the people and more efficient in recent years, and that its officers and staff should understand their responsibility according to changing times and work for the welfare of the people.

The tour was attended by District Collector Vanmathi C, Additional District Collector Sanjay Teli, Sub-Divisional Officers Kush Motwani, Akash Awatade and Vishwas Sirsat, District Superintendent of Land Records Pradeep Jagtap, Joint District Registrar K S Kamble, and several officers of the revenue, land records and registration departments. In the morning, Kharge reached Sevagram and inspected the office of the Revenue Circle Officer and Talathi, and also reviewed the work being carried out within the Sevagram circle.

He then went to Samudrapur and visited the tehsil office, where he inspected the Talathi establishment and the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan (Sanjay Gandhi Destitute Grant) section. Kharge called a woman beneficiary of the Sanjay Gandhi scheme directly on her mobile phone and asked whether she was regularly receiving the benefit of the scheme. On this occasion, he said every ordinary citizen who visits a revenue office should leave satisfied that their work has been done, and that everyone visiting the office should be spoken to with respect and listened to sincerely.

Also in Samudrapur, he visited the Joint Sub-Registrar's office and reviewed stamp registration work. He said that of the 9 stamp registration offices in total, 6 are functioning from government buildings and the rest from private premises. Where construction of the department's own building is underway, Kharge instructed senior officials at the ministry over the phone to provide funds, and to supply inverters so that power cuts do not disrupt work. He then went to Karanji Bhoge village in Wardha taluka, where he watched a live demonstration of the e-crop survey with farmers and spoke with them.

Kharge later reached the district library in Wardha, where he interacted with students preparing for competitive examinations. He said that while preparing for an exam, both the goal and the path must be clear, and that effort made in the right direction certainly leads to success. He then visited the sub-district land records office in Wardha city and the district collector's war room for information.

At the end of the day, Kharge reached Sevagram, where Mahatma Gandhi had lived for a long time. He visited Bapu's first residence at the ashram, Kasturba Gandhi's "Ba Niwas," Bapu Kuti, and Bapu's office of that time. Vijay Tambe of the ashram trust briefed him on the ashram. Writing his impressions in the visitors' register, Kharge said, "After coming to this place, I understood the power of extraordinary simplicity. The saying 'simple living, high thinking' perhaps originated here. I leave with the satisfaction of having drawn new energy from visiting this place and from Mahatma Gandhi's belongings and his thoughts."
