Water crisis at Pombhurna school, Yuva Sena warns of "beg for alms" protest
Sena's youth wing warns of protest if a zilla parishad school in Pombhurna does not get a water supply within 15 days.
A zilla parishad school in Satara Komti village, Pombhurna taluka, is facing a serious water crisis. There is no arrangement for drinking water or for toilets, and young children face difficulties every day as a result.
The lack of a proper water supply at the school is troubling not just the children but also the teachers. Besides drinking water, there is no water available for urinals, toilets or other daily tasks at the school, causing considerable difficulty to students.
The Yuva Sena has taken up the issue. It submitted a memorandum to the Gat Vikas Adhikari demanding that water supply be started immediately. Memorandums have been submitted to the administration on the matter several times before, but the problem remains unresolved. This is why the Yuva Sena of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Pombhurna, once again submitted a memorandum to the Gat Vikas Adhikari of Panchayat Samiti Pombhurna.
While submitting the memorandum, there was a detailed discussion with the Gat Vikas Adhikari about the school's water problem. She took the matter seriously and assured that arrangements for water at the school would be made as soon as possible.
The memorandum stated that a regular water supply at the school is essential for the children's health and hygiene, and that the administration should act on its assurance and provide water facilities for the children immediately.
It also warned that if water arrangements are not made within 15 days, the Yuva Sena of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Pombhurna, will launch a "beg for alms" protest.
On the occasion, under the guidance of Yuva Sena district chief Vikrant Sahare, deputy district chiefs Mahesh Shrigirwar and Rajat Dhonge were present. Also present were Satara school management committee chairman Latish Thackeray, vice-chairman Vijay Sidam, members Mahindra Sonule and Surekha Gurnule, Mahesh Thackeray, Ajit Bhadke, Pritam Bhadke, Nitin Gurnule and Satyapal Kulmethe. A large number of children's parents were also present.
Parents and Yuva Sena workers present said the issue concerns basic facilities for schoolchildren, and the administration should take it seriously and arrange water as soon as possible, in line with its assurance.
