Fadnavis to be chief guest as Nagpur bar body swears in new team on Sep 11

The newly elected executive committee of the District Bar Association, Nagpur, for 2026 will take oath at 6.15 pm on Friday, September 11. The felicitation ceremony will be held at Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Sabhagruh in Civil Lines.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will attend the event as chief guest. The ceremony will be presided over by former Chief Justice of India Justice Bhushan R. Gavai. The gathering has taken on special significance this time with such senior names from both the judiciary and the government coming together.
Several other senior figures will attend as special guests. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Maharashtra Law and Judiciary Minister Ashish Jaiswal are on the list. Justice Anil Kilor, administrative judge of the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court, will also attend, along with Principal District and Sessions Judge M. S. Azmi, who will be present as a special guest. The presence of so many senior figures from the judiciary, the government and the legal profession will add to the dignity of the occasion.
The main purpose of the event is the formal welcome of the new executive committee. The District Bar Association's new president, advocate Prakash S. Jaiswal, and general secretary, advocate Anil H. Gulhane, will be felicitated on the occasion. All other office-bearers and members elected to the committee will also be honoured.
