Ramnagar police seize tractor-trolley DJ setup worth Rs 12.50 lakh
Chandrapur police raided an unauthorised DJ setup with high-power plasma lights, seizing equipment worth Rs 12.50 lakh and booking the operators.
Police in Chandrapur city's Ramnagar police station limits have taken action against a DJ setup that was operating without permission. Police seized a DJ blaring at an ear-splitting volume along with high-power plasma lights, and a case has been registered against the accused for directly violating government rules.
Police had received reliable intelligence that some people in the Ramnagar police station limits were flouting government rules by running high-power plasma lights and a loud DJ without permission, causing significant noise pollution and disturbing public peace in the area. On receiving the tip-off, a police team reached the spot without delay and raided it. The raid found that a DJ sound system and plasma equipment had been fitted on a tractor-trolley, and the DJ was being played loudly in open defiance of government rules.
Police questioned the operator and the driver present at the spot about authorised permission from the competent authorities to play the DJ sound system and plasma equipment, but they had no valid permit. A case has been registered at Ramnagar police station against those concerned for directly violating noise pollution control rules laid down by the Supreme Court, the High Court and the government. Police seized a tractor and trolley worth around Rs 7 lakh from the spot, along with a DJ sound system and high-power plasma equipment worth Rs 5.5 lakh, taking the total value of goods seized to Rs 12.50 lakh.
This successful action was carried out under the guidance of Chandrapur Superintendent of Police Ayush Nopani, Additional Superintendent of Police Ishwar Katkade and Chandrapur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pramod Chougule, led by Ramnagar police station inspector Prabhavati Ekurke along with the station's officers and staff. Chandrapur police also issued a stern warning, saying that those who disturb public peace, play sound systems or plasma equipment louder than the permitted limit, or run DJs without permission will not be spared, and that similar strict legal action will continue to be taken.
