Nagpur conclave calls for stronger project leadership to drive Vidarbha growth
Industry leaders, technologists and educators meeting in Nagpur said disciplined project leadership and timely delivery are key to developing Vidarbha

A conference titled "Project Vidarbha 2030 - Nagpur Project Leadership Conclave" was held in Nagpur, with wide-ranging discussion on the development of Vidarbha. The conclave was held at Persistent Systems, a company located in the IT Park.
More than 150 project professionals, senior industry leaders, technical experts, educationists and entrepreneurs attended. They said that better project leadership, good governance, risk management and timely completion of work are essential to advancing Vidarbha. There was also specific discussion on artificial intelligence, digital engineering and skill development.
Experts from industry, technology, education and skill development also shared their views on the possibilities for development in Vidarbha and the challenges that could be faced.
The conclave was inaugurated by chapter president Rinu Rajesh. Speaking on the theme "Building a movement for project leadership," she said that disciplined project leadership and effective execution are essential to turn the strategic advantages that Nagpur and Vidarbha possess into real development.
Experts present at the discussion said that investment, strong infrastructure and Vidarbha's geographical position create major opportunities for development. But these opportunities can be fully realised only if projects are completed on time with better leadership, good governance, risk management and coordination among different stakeholders.
Industry representatives also shared views on the changing business environment and priorities for the manufacturing sector and infrastructure. Experts stressed that large projects should not be limited to announcements or investment alone, but must also be delivered and produce real results.
Technical sessions covered digital engineering, artificial intelligence (AI) and the use of AI in project management offices (PMO). Both education and industry representatives discussed how to make young people employable and prepare them, beyond earning a degree, for effective project delivery.
Experts also said that going forward, the success of any project will not be judged by time and budget alone. Business value, innovation, sustainability and long-term outcomes will also be considered important measures of a project's success.
