Chandrapur police land purchase worth Rs 30.52 crore approved on Mungantiwar's initiative

A major step has been taken to strengthen the Chandrapur police setup and provide police officers and staff with essential facilities. On the initiative of MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar, a fund of Rs 30.52 crore has been approved for the land acquisition of land reserved for the Chandrapur police department.

The land is reserved for the police department in the new Chandrapur Development Plan, and several facilities are to be built on it, including a dog squad training centre, a physical ground for police recruitment, a training centre, a BDDS training centre, an indoor firing range, and government quarters for police officers and staff. This administrative action to make land available for these essential facilities in New Chandrapur will further strengthen the police administration.

Under the new Chandrapur Development Plan, land at reservation number 110 in Mouza Kosara measuring 8.30 hectares and land at reservation number 133 in Mouza Datala measuring 12.25 hectares, which falls within the police department's reservation, will be acquired. On this land, a separate facility for dog squad training, a physical ground for police recruitment, a training centre, a BDDS training centre, an indoor firing range, government quarters for officers and staff, and other necessary construction work are to be carried out.

Since the police force is engaged round the clock in protecting citizens, it is necessary to have a strong framework covering everything from their training and accommodation to skill development and work facilities. Keeping this need in mind, MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has been sensitive to police department facilities from the start. After addressing the police station building, living arrangements for police staff and their housing issues, he has now taken the initiative to secure land for training and other essential facilities.

Mungantiwar has continuously raised the issue with the government to ensure police officers and staff get good facilities. His approach of caring for the welfare of the police force alongside its operational efficiency has been reflected in several earlier decisions as well. Securing funds for housing arrangements for police staff, initiating the construction of a new police station building, and raising the long-pending DG loan scheme issue in the state assembly are among the ways MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has consistently prioritised the basic needs of the police force.

Under the new Chandrapur Development Plan, administrative approval of Rs 43,65,83,016 had already been given earlier for the acquisition of the 8.30-hectare land at reservation number 110 in Mouza Kosara and the 12.25-hectare land at reservation number 133 in Mouza Datala, which is land encumbered by the police department's reservation. Of this, a fund of Rs 30.52 crore has now been approved, clearing the way for obtaining the land required for these facilities.

According to the relevant government decision, approval has been given to release funds for this land acquisition. With the broader aim of ensuring that the Chandrapur police administration gets not just modern office facilities but every kind of facility related to training, technology, living arrangements and operational capacity, this key action is being taken on the initiative of MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar. In the coming period, this will increase the capacity of the Chandrapur police setup as well as significantly improve facilities for officers and staff.
