A "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan" (service resolution campaign) will be held from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. The campaign aims to take service and public welfare programmes to different sections of society. A district planning meeting was called at the Bharatiya Janata Party's metropolitan office to prepare for it.

The meeting was attended by former Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir, Chandrapur assembly constituency MLA Kishor Jorgewar, Chandrapur district metropolitan in-charge Archana Dehankar, OBC leader Ashok Jivtode, former district president Subhash Kasangottuwar, state executive council member Tushar Som, vice-president Balram Dodani, general secretary Ravindra Gurnule, Manoj Pal, Namdev Dahule, Shyam Kanakam, Savita Dandhare, assembly in-charge Dashrathsingh Thakur, women's wing in-charge Vandana Hatgaonkar, senior leader Prakash Devtale, Raghuvir Ahir, mandal president Pradeep Kirme, Subhash Aadmane, Swapnil Dukre, Sarika Sandurkar and Vinod Khewale.

The meeting decided that the campaign should not remain a mere formal exercise but should connect different sections of society and promote service-oriented work. Several programmes were planned for the month-long campaign, covering social, cultural, educational and awareness-related activities.

These include a painting and speech competition on the themes "Ashirwad ka Diya" and "Sapno ka Bharat", a staging of the play "Namo Seva Gatha", felicitation of Anganwadi workers, a reel competition on development works, a "Seva Deep Yatra", a "Seva Setu Abhiyan" and the "Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra". Through these, information about various central and state government schemes, development works and welfare programmes will be taken to the public.

MLA Kishor Jorgewar said the country is moving rapidly towards development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said taking service to the last person in society along with development is the BJP's approach, and the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan organised on the Prime Minister's birthday should further strengthen the resolve of public service.

Hansraj Ahir said service is the real strength of the organisation and every party worker should take an active part in the campaign. He said it was necessary to talk to people through various social programmes to understand their problems, ensure government scheme benefits reach eligible people, and give momentum to socially useful work. He said the campaign would be an attempt to build up a major public service programme in Chandrapur district.

The "Sapno ka Bharat" painting and speech competition will give students a platform to present their thoughts and hopes for India. The play "Namo Seva Gatha" will present the journey of service and development to the public. The felicitation of Anganwadi workers will recognise their work in the field of women and child development.

The reel competition on development works, the Seva Deep Yatra and the Seva Setu Abhiyan will use modern media to spread information about development works and public service programmes. The Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra will focus on taking the vision of a developed India and information about government schemes to the general public.

The meeting decided that the campaign organised on the Prime Minister's birthday would be expanded further through public service. Party office-bearers and workers were urged to work in a planned manner and increase participation in every programme. A large number of BJP office-bearers, representatives of various wings and workers were present at the meeting, and responsibilities for the campaign's programmes were discussed in detail.
