Malegaon police have intensified their crackdown on drivers violating traffic rules by fitting black tinted windows on their vehicles. Tinted glass on such vehicles is being removed on the spot and fines are being collected from the drivers concerned. Some vehicles belonging to repeat offenders have also been detained.

The action is being carried out under the guidance of Assistant Police Inspector Kuldeep Sankpal of Malegaon police station. Vehicles are being checked at different intersections across the city, and the drive has been intensified over the past two days, particularly around the engineering college campus and Rajhans Chowk, among other major roads.

Police noted that some drivers continued to use tinted windows even after earlier fines were imposed. As a result, police have gone beyond collecting fines to now removing the tinted glass from vehicles and detaining vehicles where necessary.

Alongside this, action is also being taken against drivers who cover number plates, write registration numbers in very small letters, or make illegal alterations to number plates to mislead police.

Assistant Police Inspector Kuldeep Sankpal said tinted windows raise the possibility of suspicious activity being concealed inside vehicles. The drive is being run with the aim of curbing criminal tendencies, keeping suspicious vehicle-related activity in check, and maintaining law and order in the city.

The action was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, Additional Superintendent of Police Ganesh Biradar and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Chaitanya Kadam. Assistant Police Inspector Kuldeep Sankpal was joined in the operation by traffic police personnel Sachin Holkar, Kaka Patole, Sandeep Waghmode, Amjad Shaikh and Ganesh Khandagale.
