Maharashtra weather: Light rain in isolated spots September 17-19, no heavy showers
The weather department says no part of Maharashtra will see heavy rain over the next three days, only scattered light showers in a few areas.
The monsoon in the state is now gradually withdrawing. According to the weather department's forecast, there is no possibility of heavy rain anywhere in the state over the next three days. Only a few specific areas will see light showers, the department said. It has released details of how the weather will play out in Konkan, central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha between September 17 and 19.
On September 17, the weather department has forecast a strong possibility of light rain in some districts of north Konkan, and at scattered places in south Konkan-Goa, central Maharashtra and Marathwada. Region-wise, rain is expected at some places in Konkan and at scattered places in central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha. Mumbai city and its suburbs will have partly cloudy skies with light rain over the next 24 hours on the same day, the department said. The maximum temperature in Mumbai is likely to be 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum 26 degrees Celsius.
The forecast of light rain at scattered places in Konkan-Goa, central Maharashtra and Marathwada continues for September 18 as well. According to the region-wise forecast, rain could occur at scattered places across Konkan, central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha, the weather department clarified. The department has not issued a heavy rain warning for any part of the state on either of these two days, so residents need not worry about heavy rain.
On September 19, light rain is likely at scattered places in Konkan-Goa and central Maharashtra, while the weather in Marathwada is expected to remain dry, the department forecast. Rain is also expected at some places in Vidarbha on the same day. As a result, residents of Vidarbha may face light rain over these three days, particularly on September 17 and 19.
With rain easing in most parts of the state at present, farmers are able to complete their farming work on time. In areas where light showers are forecast, crops face little risk, but farmers have been advised to make farming decisions keeping the weather forecast in mind. The weather department also noted that residents may face humid and hot weather during the festival season.
