Virat Kohli meets Eknath Shinde in London, talks cricket and Maharashtra projects

Team India star batsman Virat Kohli met Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in London. The meeting took place on Friday and covered not just cricket but also an open discussion on Maharashtra's development projects.

After the meeting, Eknath Shinde praised Virat Kohli extensively. Shinde said that despite being such a big cricketer, Virat's nature is very simple and down to earth.

According to Shinde, when Virat learnt that he was in London, Virat came to meet him on his own. The two had met before as well, but Shinde said the direct conversation this time was special.

The meeting also touched on various development projects in Maharashtra. Shinde briefed Virat on the Third Mumbai project, the Atal Setu, the Balasaheb Thackeray Samruddhi Mahamarg, the Coastal Road and the Metro, along with ongoing work in the education and health sectors. Shinde said Virat responded positively to the development work carried out in Maharashtra over the past few years.

Notably, the two also discussed what could be done to bring forward the next generation of players and give their talent the right platform. Shinde said Virat offered some important suggestions on this issue.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently closing in on another major record. He continues his pursuit of 100 centuries in international cricket, and currently has 85 international centuries to his name.

In ODI cricket, Kohli has scored 14,941 runs. He now needs just 59 more runs to reach the milestone of 15,000 ODI runs, and cricket fans are watching to see when he reaches it in upcoming matches.
