MP Rajendra Jain orders land revaluation for Gudma-Pratap Bagh rail line

A key meeting was held recently under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament Rajendra Jain regarding land acquisition for the proposed new railway line between Gudma and Pratap Bagh. Taking into account the sentiments and financial interests of the affected farmers, MP Jain today (on the 16th) gave officials clear directions to revalue the land and to take the necessary legal steps for purchasing land directly from farmers.

During the meeting, MP Rajendra Jain assured that no farmer would be wronged because of the railway administration's project and that everyone would receive fair and proper compensation for their land.

A large number of farmers and landowners are set to be affected by the proposed railway line. Farmers had complained that several technical errors had crept in during the land survey. At the same meeting, MP Rajendra Jain ordered the Sub-Divisional Officer of Gondia, the town planner and senior railway department officials to immediately correct all the errors in the survey.

The meeting was attended by Akhilesh Seth, president of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, secretary Amit Buddhe, Gopal Chute, Supreme Bais, Raju Channekar, Jeetlal Lilhare Chaurasia, Ayyub Shaikh, Suraj Bawankar, Rajesh Nagrikar and Dhanlal Nagpure, along with a large number of farmers from various villages.

According to the decisions taken at the meeting, first, the affected land will be revalued based on the current market rate and land valuation. Second, directions were given to adopt the option of direct purchase to make the land acquisition process easier and more beneficial for farmers. Third, orders were given to immediately correct the errors made during the land survey and ensure farmers receive proper compensation.

The major villages that will be affected by this project include Gudma, Awaritola, Chulod, Gondia Khurd, Katangi Kala, Nagra, Chandnitola, Garra, Sawari, Dagotola, Dattora and Ghiwari.
