Wardha police hold route march ahead of Ganeshotsav to secure immersion routes

With Ganeshotsav approaching, Wardha district police have stepped up preparations. To maintain law and order and reassure the public of their safety, police carried out a route march on September 12, 2026, covering the main roads of Wardha city and the routes to be used for Ganpati immersion.

During the route march, police inspected the city's major markets, crowded areas, sensitive locations, key intersections and the routes fixed for immersion, which gave a clear picture of the actual security preparations. Since people of every faith celebrate Ganeshotsav together with enthusiasm and peace, Wardha police are making special arrangements to ensure no disturbance occurs during the festival. Crowd management, traffic control, planning of immersion processions, checks on noise pollution, extra deployment at sensitive spots and close watch on anti-social elements will all be carried out.

Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agrawal appealed to citizens, saying Ganeshotsav is a festival of joy, devotion and brotherhood, and that the people of Wardha district should celebrate it peacefully, with discipline and while respecting each other's sentiments. He said Ganesh mandals must strictly follow the instructions of the administration and police, and that nothing disturbing law and order should happen during the immersion procession. He asked people not to trust or forward rumours, false news or objectionable messages on social media, and to immediately inform police if they notice any suspicious person, object or activity. The Superintendent of Police said Wardha police are ready round the clock for people's safety, and appealed to citizens to cooperate with police so that Ganeshotsav can be celebrated with peace, order and social harmony.

Wardha police made it clear that while the festival should be celebrated with joy, no one should take the law into their own hands. Anyone who disturbs law and order, breaches public peace or violates rules during Ganeshotsav will face strict action in accordance with the law. The Wardha district police team is making every effort to ensure a safe, peaceful and disciplined atmosphere during Ganeshotsav, and has appealed to citizens to cooperate with police so that the festival can be celebrated with enthusiasm and harmony.

The route march was held under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agrawal. It included Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare along with 21 police officers, 200 police personnel, 200 home guards, 2 riot control units, 1 Quick Response Team (QRT) and 1 SRPF platoon of the district police force.
