Rs 30.52 crore approved for police land purchase in Chandrapur, says Mungantiwar

A major decision has been taken to strengthen the police force in Chandrapur city and district. Rs 30.52 crore has been approved under the Chandrapur Police Land Fund. The fund will be spent on purchasing land reserved for the police in the new Chandrapur development plan. The fund came through following sustained efforts by MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar.

Once the land is acquired, work on a modern training centre and government quarters for police can begin swiftly. In the new Chandrapur development plan, 8.30 hectares of land under reservation number 110 at Mouza Kosara, and 12.25 hectares under reservation number 133 at Mouza Datala, are reserved for the police department. This land will be acquired using the sanctioned fund.

Several essential facilities are planned on this land, including a separate facility for training the dog squad, a physical training ground for police recruitment, a training centre, a BDDS training centre, an indoor firing range, government quarters for officers and staff, and other necessary construction.

Since police personnel remain on duty round the clock to protect citizens, strong infrastructure is needed for everything from their training and housing to skill development and work facilities. With this in mind, Mungantiwar has always been attentive to police department facilities. Having resolved the issues of police station buildings, housing arrangements for police staff and their housing scheme, he has now taken the initiative to secure land for training and other essential facilities.

Mungantiwar has consistently raised the matter with the government to ensure police officers and staff get good facilities. Securing funds for police housing, taking the initiative for new police station buildings, and raising the pending DG loan scheme issue in the state assembly are among the ways he has always prioritised the basic needs of the police force.

Administrative approval of Rs 43,65,83,016 had already been given earlier for purchasing the land affected by the police department's reservation at Mouza Kosara (8.30 hectares under reservation number 110) and Mouza Datala (12.25 hectares under reservation number 133). Of this, Rs 30.52 crore has now been sanctioned, clearing the way to acquire the land needed for these facilities.

According to the relevant government decision, approval has been granted to provide funds for this land acquisition. The initiative, driven by Mungantiwar, aims to ensure that Chandrapur police get not just modern office facilities but complete infrastructure for training, technology, housing and daily operations. This will go on to boost the capacity of the Chandrapur police system as well as significantly improve facilities for officers and staff.
