Chandrapur corporator's fund lights up Babupeth with high-mast light
A Chandrapur corporator used her discretionary fund to install a high-mast light that ended a long-running darkness problem in Babupeth's Sawari Bangla area.
Chandrapur Municipal Corporation corporator Chandatai Vairagade has resolved a long-standing darkness problem in the Sawari Bangla area of Babupeth ward using her discretionary fund. The area had been without streetlights for several days, causing considerable difficulty for people moving around at night.
Corporator Chandatai Vairagade, who is also the president of Mahila Congress, took the problem seriously. Considering the trouble caused to residents by the darkness in the Sawari Bangla area and the question of safety, she arranged a high-mast light for the area using the discretionary fund available to her from the municipal corporation.
The high-mast light was inaugurated on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi by senior ward citizens Namdeo Ghorude and Suresh Vairagade. Corporators Anita Chaukhe and Karishma Jangam were present on the occasion, along with a large number of prominent local people, social workers and residents. The high-mast light has ended the darkness in the Sawari Bangla area, making it easier and safer for residents to move about at night.
On the occasion, corporator Chandatai Vairagade said, "It is my duty to give top priority to the basic needs and safety of the ward's citizens. I remain continuously committed to resolving every problem that the ward's citizens bring before me, and my effort is to ensure that every part of Babupeth is lit up and equipped with facilities."
Residents expressed satisfaction that this long-pending demand was addressed quickly through the discretionary fund, and thanked Chandatai Vairagade. Her effort to resolve local problems and drive all-round development of the ward is being praised widely.
