A felicitation ceremony was held with great enthusiasm in Chandrapur by Ranaragini Mahila Nagari Sahakari Patsanstha. On the occasion, Dr Abhijit Wanjari, MLA from the Nagpur Division Graduates Constituency, felicitated meritorious students along with their parents.

The event was presided over by senior social worker Shyambabu Puglia. Students who scored above ninety percent in Class 10 and above eighty percent in Class 12 were specially honoured.

The felicitation ceremony for meritorious students and model citizens, organised by the women's savings group and Ranaragini Mahila Nagari Sahakari Patsanstha, concluded in a highly enthusiastic atmosphere. The ceremony was conducted by MLA Dr Abhijit Wanjari, with senior social worker Shyambabu Puglia presiding.

At the start of the programme, the organisation's founder president, Chandatai Manojrao Vairagade, spoke about the organisation's journey so far. She said the savings group, which started with just ten women, has today grown into the Ranaragini Patsanstha with a turnover of crores of rupees. She said that besides working on women's economic empowerment, tree plantation, blood donation camps and health check-ups, they are also active in the political and social spheres in service of citizens, and she wished those felicitated well for the road ahead.

In his address, MLA Dr Abhijit Wanjari said today's meritorious students are the real builders of a strong and prosperous India of tomorrow. He told the students not to confine themselves to bookish knowledge alone but also to fulfil their responsibility towards society. Special guest Shivanitai Wadettiwar said she was committed to helping students get the scholarships and educational opportunities they need, and she praised Chandatai Vairagade's work in building such a large organisation of women in the city.

At the ceremony, students who scored above ninety percent in Class 10 and above eighty percent in Class 12 were felicitated along with their parents. Model citizens who have made notable contributions to Chandrapur's social and educational spheres were also felicitated by dignitaries.

Present on the dais on the occasion were Dr Indutai Agrawal, city Congress president Shivarao Polshetty, senior leader Ramubhau Tiwari, advocate Vijayrao Mogre, principal Narendra Bobde, Santoshbhau Kuchankar, corporator Sanjeevani Wasekar, Anita Chaukhe, Karishma Jangam, Abhishek Doifode, Vanashree Meshram and Sonia Undirwade.

Citizens, women and students from across the city, including the Lalpeth, Babupeth and Mana Tekdi areas, turned up in large numbers for the event. The programme was compered by Sarika Kuchankar, while Swati Janbandhu proposed the vote of thanks.
