Chandrapur to hold Lok Adalat in three phases to settle old land disputes
Chandrapur district will hold a Mahsul Lok Adalat on three dates to settle long-pending revenue disputes through mutual consent.
A special drive is being launched in Chandrapur district to settle revenue and quasi-judicial cases that have been pending for years. Under the "Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Mahsul Lok Adalat", these disputes will be resolved through mutual consent.
The drive is being run across the state on the idea of Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, so that cases stuck for years can be settled quickly through compromise and consent between the parties. As part of this, the Lok Adalat will be held in Chandrapur district under the supervision of Collector Vasumna Pant. Hearings will be held by the Additional District Magistrate, all Sub-Divisional Officers, all Tehsildars, Additional Tehsildars and at the circle level.
The Lok Adalat in the district will be held on three dates: October 7, December 4, 2026, and February 17, 2027. Under Collector Pant's guidance, hearings will be held in Chandrapur, Ballarpur, Mul, Sawali, Gondpipri, Pombhurna, Warora, Bhadravati, Korpana, Rajura and Jiwati tehsils, which come under the Additional District Magistrate office, Chandrapur. Lok Adalats will also be held in Chimur, Nagbhid, Brahmapuri and Sindewahi under the Additional District Magistrate office, Chimur.
In addition, the Mahsul Lok Adalat will also be organised at the level of the Sub-Divisional Officer offices of Chandrapur, Mul, Ballarpur, Gondpipri, Warora, Chimur, Brahmapuri and Rajura, at all Tehsildar and Additional Tehsildar offices in the district (Kothari, Talodhi and Bhisi), and at the circle level.
The process will work as follows: applications under the compromise scheme will be accepted at the time of the hearing. On the day of the Lok Adalat, a final order will be passed on pending claims with the consent of both parties, settling the matter permanently. Under this drive, pending cases will be heard on a single day.
Collector Vasumna Pant has appealed to citizens whose revenue-related cases have been pending for years to bring these cases before this Mahsul Lok Adalat through their lawyers. She has also asked lawyers to take the initiative to settle cases involving mutual compromise through this Lok Adalat, which will save parties both time and money and give them the satisfaction of having their matter resolved.
