Railways extends three special trains on Bhusawal route for festive rush
Railways has extended three special trains running via Bhusawal, easing travel for festival-bound passengers in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Bihar

The festive season has begun and crowds are swelling across the country. With stations struggling to accommodate the rush, the Railways has taken an important decision, extending three special trains running via Bhusawal. The Sainagar Shirdi-Bikaner, Udhna-Jhanjharpur and Udhna-Madhubani special trains have all had their run extended. The move will bring relief to passengers travelling between Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Bihar, with those who had been unable to get reservations now more likely to find seats.
The Udhna-Jhanjharpur weekly special train number 09047, earlier scheduled to run only until September 13, will now run until September 27, 2026, two weeks longer. Similarly, the return train, Jhanjharpur-Udhna number 09048, earlier running until September 14, will now continue until September 28, 2026. The train is considered crucial for passengers travelling between Bihar and Gujarat, as regular trains are currently running full, and the special train is expected to ease that crowding.
The biggest extension has gone to the Sainagar Shirdi-Bikaner weekly special train number 04716, which will now run from October 4 to November 29, continuing service through Diwali. Its return service, Bikaner-Sainagar Shirdi number 04715, will run from October 3, 2026 to November 28, 2026. This is seen as good news for pilgrims travelling from Rajasthan to Shirdi and passengers travelling from Maharashtra to Rajasthan, as this route sees the heaviest festival-season rush.
The third train is the Udhna-Madhubani weekly special, number 09045. This train, too, was earlier scheduled to run only until September 13 but has now been extended to September 27. The return train, Madhubani-Udhna number 09046, earlier running until September 14, will now remain in service until September 28, 2026.
The Railways has taken this decision at the right time. With Ganpati, Navratri and Diwali approaching, most people want to travel to their home towns and villages. These three special trains are expected to ease travel for thousands of passengers. Those planning to travel on this route are being advised to book tickets as soon as possible, as these special trains too could fill up quickly.
