A road accident occurred at Pimpalgaon village in Bhandara district around 3.30 am on Friday. Ganeshiya Patel, 35, died in the accident, while three young children were injured.

After the accident, Bhandara police took all the injured for treatment to the trauma care centre at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur. Doctors examined Ganeshiya Patel there and declared her dead.

Doctors at the trauma centre said the woman's condition was critical even before she reached the hospital, and she died before treatment could begin. Her body has been sent to the mortuary for a post-mortem.

Four-year-old Tanmay Patel suffered a head injury in the accident and has received stitches to his left eyelid. Given the severity of his injury, doctors have intubated him and admitted him to ICU-2. Tanmay's condition is currently said to be critical. A team of doctors is continuously monitoring his condition and he is being given the necessary treatment.

Two-year-old Dolly Patel was also injured in the same accident, sustaining injuries to her left eye and right leg. Doctors say her condition is currently stable and she is undergoing treatment. Separately, 10-year-old Lokesh Patel has injuries and swelling on his forehead, left leg and right eye. His condition too is said to be stable. Both Dolly and Lokesh are being treated under doctors' supervision.

Dr Qureshi, head of the Nagpur Medical trauma care centre, said the three children and the woman were brought to the hospital injured after the accident. He said the woman died before treatment could begin. Doctors informed the relatives of each patient's condition after examining them.

All three injured children are being treated at the trauma care centre of Nagpur Medical. Of them, 4-year-old Tanmay's condition is the most serious, so a team of doctors is keeping a special watch on him, while the hospital says Dolly and Lokesh are stable.

Nagpur police are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident. Details of exactly what caused the accident and whether any other vehicle or person was involved will emerge after the police investigation.
