A horrific accident occurred before dawn near Pimpalgaon on the Nagpur-Raipur National Highway in Bhandara district, killing nine people including women and children. The accident happened when a truck was pulling out of a petrol pump onto the highway, and a speeding Bolero coming from behind rammed into it.

The impact was so severe that the Bolero's entire structure was smashed. According to initial information, the Bolero was travelling at a very high speed, which made the collision especially dangerous. The occupants of the vehicle suffered serious injuries.

On hearing of the accident, local residents, administration officials and police rushed to the spot. The injured were rushed to hospital, but one more person died during treatment, taking the death toll to nine.

The dead include several women and three young children, plunging the area into mourning. A large crowd gathered at the site after the accident. Local residents joined the police in the rescue effort and helped pull the injured out of the vehicle.

The moments before the accident were captured on a nearby CCTV camera. The footage shows the Bolero approaching on the highway, with the collision occurring seconds later. Police are investigating the sequence of events based on this CCTV footage.

According to initial estimates, the driver may have lost control of the Bolero because of its high speed, causing it to strike the truck from behind. However, the exact cause of the accident will only be clear once the police investigation is complete. The accident has sent a wave of grief through Bhandara district, and the families of the deceased have been devastated. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
