Ballarpur proposal for 1,000 homes; Munganitwar directs MHADA

An important meeting on MHADA-related issues in Chandrapur district was held at the Nagpur office of the Nagpur Housing and Area Development Board (MHADA), in the presence of MLA Sudhir Munganitwar. The meeting discussed several issues with the aim of ensuring that ordinary citizens get their own homes and basic facilities they need.

At the meeting, Munganitwar raised the proposal to build 1,000 homes in Ballarpur city under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He directed the concerned officials to submit the proposal immediately and begin further action. Noting that needy and ordinary families in Ballarpur require housing, he also directed that necessary steps be taken to carry the proposal forward. This is expected to be a step towards affordable housing for economically weaker sections.

The meeting also reviewed the current status of 2,004 homes previously approved under a MHADA project in Chandrapur. These 2,004 homes have already been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the New Chandrapur area, and Munganitwar has been following up with senior MHADA officials from time to time to speed up further action on them. He clearly stated that the selection of eligible and needy beneficiaries for this project, and the process that follows, should be completed soon. He laid particular emphasis on transparency, speed and priority for eligible beneficiaries while implementing the housing project.

Munganitwar also pointed out that while homes are being built in the MHADA area in Chandrapur, residents there should also get roads and other infrastructure facilities. Taking note of the problems faced by citizens over roads and other facilities in the area, he gave the necessary directions in this regard to MHADA's chief officer, Dr Vijay Ingole. He stressed that, along with the housing project, road and basic infrastructure works should be taken up on priority so that the daily lives of people in the area become easier.

Munganitwar has for long been working to ensure that ordinary citizens of Chandrapur district get affordable homes of their own. Pursuing the idea of building a large-scale housing project in New Chandrapur, he coordinated with the concerned government departments, which led to the approval of the 2,004-home project in Chandrapur under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. His efforts are now underway to take forward the next steps of this project and the proposal for 1,000 homes in Ballarpur.

The meeting affirmed that needy families getting their own homes is not just a matter of housing but is linked to their safe and dignified living. Accordingly, Munganitwar has directed the concerned agencies to make available roads, water, electricity and other necessary facilities in these areas while also speeding up the housing projects. This is expected to give momentum to the housing projects in Chandrapur and Ballarpur, benefiting ordinary citizens.
