An Agniveer army recruitment rally will be held at Ballarpur's taluka sports complex from October 2 to 17, with candidates from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa taking part. With a large number of candidates expected, Additional District Magistrate Dr Nitin Vyavahare has directed the district administration to carry out detailed planning in coordination with all departments.

The District Soldier Welfare Office called a review meeting at the district magistrate's office on Monday to discuss preparations for the recruitment drive. At the meeting, Dr Vyavahare assigned separate responsibilities to the concerned departments and asked them to complete the work within a fixed timeframe. Officials of the municipal corporation, public works department, electricity department, police and state transport department have been asked to jointly inspect the sports complex and plan the necessary work. The public works department has been directed to complete repair and electrical work at the earliest.

The zila parishad has been given responsibility for setting up paid food and essential-item stalls outside the stadium for candidates through Umeed and MAVIM savings groups. The police department has been asked to deploy adequate force to maintain law and order and manage the crowd of candidates.

The concerned departments have also been directed to clear grass and shrubs and keep the sports complex premises clean, arrange sufficient toilets, provide buses for candidates' movement, and ensure uninterrupted power supply during the recruitment drive. The meeting was attended by Resident Deputy Collector Dagdu Kumbhar, District Soldier Welfare Officer Shubham Dandekar, Additional Chief Executive Officer Kalpana Kshirsagar, District Civil Surgeon Dr Bandu Ramteke, Ballarpur Sub-Divisional Officer Dr Arjun Pawara, Tehsildar Renuka Kokate, and officials from various other departments.

An ambulance, first aid supplies and a team of doctors will be deployed to look after the health of candidates during the Agniveer recruitment. To ensure proper verification of documents, the education department will appoint at least ten teachers. Additional District Magistrate Dr Vyavahare has also directed that forest department staff be deployed at the sports complex premises to guard against any risk to candidates from snakes or other wild animals.
