Wardha police crack bike theft case, arrest accused
Wardha city police recovered a stolen bike worth Rs 75,000 and arrested a 42-year-old man days after the theft.

Shadab Mansuri Iqbal Mansuri, 23, a resident of the Selu area in Wardha, had his black Hero Splendor XTEC bike, worth around Rs 75,000, stolen. The bike's registration number was MH 32 AV 0427. Shadab had gone to Daga Hospital in Wardha for some work between 2 pm and 4 pm on September 10, 2026. During this time, an unidentified thief stole his bike.
Based on Shadab's verbal complaint, a case was registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as crime number 1510/2026 at Wardha (City) police station, and an investigation began.
Given the seriousness of the case, Police Inspector Nageshkumar Chatarkar formed a special team to catch the accused. The team scanned CCTV footage and identified the accused based on reliable information from an informer. The accused was identified as Mahesh Ambadas Wandhare, 42, a resident of Valdur village in Hinganghat taluka. He currently lives on rent in Katve's house in the Gond Plot, Kejaji Chowk area of Wardha.
The team traced Mahesh Wandhare and arrested him in the case. He was then taken into police custody remand (PCR) from the court and questioned, based on which the stolen bike was recovered. Police seized Shadab's stolen black Hero Splendor XTEC bike, registration number MH 32 AV 0427, worth Rs 75,000.
The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Saurabhkumar Agrawal, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sunil Mahadik. The team from Wardha City police station achieved this success on the instructions of station in-charge Police Inspector Nageshkumar Chatarkar. The team included Assistant Sub-Inspector of the crime detection unit Sharad Gaikwad, Police Constables Prashant Vanjari (1378), Narendra Kamble (1444) and Mahendra Patil (523), and police personnel Vaibhav Jadhav (1599) and Shravan Pawar (1342).
Police Constable Prashant Vanjari is further investigating the case. Police say more crimes linked to this case may come to light during the investigation.
