In Wardha, son beats father to death on Tanha Pola festival day
A man in Virul village, Wardha, was allegedly beaten to death by his son on the Tanha Pola festival day following a long-running domestic dispute
A report from Virul village in Wardha district has shaken the entire community. On the day of Tanha Pola, a festival cherished by children and celebrated in every household, a son in Virul stands accused of killing his own father.
The case concerns Parmeshwar Chaudhary, a resident of Virul. According to preliminary information received by the police, Parmeshwar's son beat him mercilessly to death. Villagers say a domestic dispute between father and son had been going on for a long time, with the bitterness gradually building up.
The old tension suddenly flared up on the day of the festival itself. It is said an argument broke out between the two over something, and the son quickly lost his temper. He is accused of attacking his father with sticks and with fists and kicks. Severely injured from the beating, Parmeshwar Chaudhary collapsed on the ground.
Hearing the commotion, neighbours and family members rushed to the spot. They took Parmeshwar to the nearest hospital without delay, but doctors declared him dead after examination. As the news spread, mourning gripped the entire village of Virul.
On being informed of the incident, a team from Virul police station reached the spot. Police took custody of the body and sent it to Wardha district hospital for a post-mortem examination. In preliminary questioning, police also learnt that a domestic dispute had been going on between father and son for a long time, and that this dispute eventually turned into a major tragedy.
Police have immediately taken the accused son into custody and are questioning him. Once the investigation is complete and all evidence has been gathered, police will register a case of murder.
The incident, occurring on a family and emotionally significant festival like Tanha Pola, has deeply shaken the people of Virul village. While the entire area is in mourning, anger over the incident is also clearly visible among villagers. People are stunned that a festival meant to bring joy has this time become a permanent source of grief for one family.
