Gold and silver prices rise, 24 carat gold crosses Rs 1.55 lakh

Gold prices rose in the domestic bullion market on Tuesday. On September 9, the price of 24 carat gold stood at Rs 1,55,360 per 10 grams, while 22 carat gold was priced at Rs 1,42,410. The price of 18 carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,16,520 per 10 grams. Silver was priced at Rs 2,49,900 per kilogram, or Rs 249.90 per gram.

By the gram, 24 carat gold cost Rs 15,536, 22 carat gold Rs 14,241 and 18 carat gold Rs 11,652 on the day.

Prices were slightly lower a day earlier, on September 8. That day, 24 carat gold was priced at Rs 15,414 per gram, 22 carat at Rs 14,129 and 18 carat at Rs 11,560. Per 10 grams, 22 carat gold cost Rs 1,41,290, 24 carat Rs 1,54,140 and 18 carat Rs 1,15,600 on September 8. Silver held steady at Rs 2,49,900 per kilogram that day as well.

Gold prices varied slightly across cities. In Mumbai, 22 carat gold was priced at Rs 1,42,410 per 10 grams, 24 carat at Rs 1,55,360 and 18 carat at Rs 1,16,520. In Delhi, prices were a little higher, at Rs 1,42,560 for 22 carat, Rs 1,55,510 for 24 carat and Rs 1,16,670 for 18 carat.

In Nashik, 22 carat gold was priced at Rs 1,42,440, 24 carat at Rs 1,55,390 and 18 carat at Rs 1,16,550 per 10 grams. Nagpur recorded the same prices as Mumbai, at Rs 1,42,410 for 22 carat, Rs 1,55,360 for 24 carat and Rs 1,16,520 for 18 carat.

In Surat, 22 carat gold cost Rs 1,42,460 per 10 grams, 24 carat Rs 1,55,410 and 18 carat Rs 1,16,570. Chennai recorded the biggest difference, with 22 carat gold at Rs 1,42,710, 24 carat at Rs 1,55,680 and 18 carat at Rs 1,20,410 per 10 grams.

Gold prices in Pune, Kerala, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bengaluru matched those in Mumbai. In Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur, 22 carat gold was priced at Rs 1,42,560, 24 carat at Rs 1,55,510 and 18 carat at Rs 1,16,670 per 10 grams, the same as Delhi.
