Sharjah signs pact with WTITC, opening global platform for Telangana tech firms

The Sharjah government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the World Telugu Information Technology Council (WTITC) to boost cooperation in technology and innovation. The partnership aims to connect Sharjah's research and innovation ecosystem with the Telugu technology community spread across the world, and is expected to create new opportunities for tech companies, startups, researchers and entrepreneurs.
The agreement is not limited to business-level cooperation. It will focus specifically on areas such as applied research, technology transfer, prototyping and pilot projects. Strengthening coordination between universities and businesses, turning new ideas into real projects, and commercialising technology are also key aspects of the partnership. Such cooperation could give technology developed in research a direct route to market.
For the global Telugu technology community linked to WTITC, Sharjah is now emerging as a potential centre for research, innovation and international business expansion. The network includes technologists, tech companies, entrepreneurs and innovators, which could increase the exchange of skills and knowledge on both sides. The memorandum of understanding was signed at the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP). On the occasion, SRTIP Chief Strategy Officer Dr. Fareed Mahmoud Abdalla Alameeri and WTITC Chairman Sundeep Kumar Makthala signed the agreement. According to Sundeep Makthala, the partnership will give both sides a common platform for access to technology, research, talent, knowledge and markets.
The cooperation is expected to further strengthen efforts to connect Sharjah's technology ecosystem with the global Telugu community. Real outcomes are expected in the coming period through joint research, pilot projects and the commercialisation of technology.
