Sanai Chaughade to show Konkan's traditional Ganeshotsav as Parab family heads to village

With Ganeshotsav just days away, preparations for Bappa's arrival are in full swing across Maharashtra, with an air of festivity everywhere. Among all the celebrations, Konkan's Ganeshotsav holds a special place, with Bappa welcomed in every home, traditional rituals, aarti and bhajans, and festivities in a village setting. A glimpse of this traditional Ganeshotsav will now be seen in Zee Marathi's serial Sanai Chaughade.

In the serial, the Parab family will travel to their village to celebrate Ganeshotsav this time. As a result, many colours of Konkan's traditional Ganeshotsav will be shown in the serial. The special track will feature scenes such as the Hartalika puja, the arrival of the Ganpati idol from the workshop, the welcome of Bappa by the four daughters of the house, the village aarti, double-round bhajans, the arrival of Gauri, and the traditional Ganpati visarjan.

Actress Chinmayee Salvi, who plays the character of Sharvari, shared her experience of shooting for this Ganeshotsav track. She said, "This experience is very special for me. I went to Kankavli for the first time and felt like I had come to my own village. My village is Sangameshwar, so the smell of the place, the aroma of cow-dung cakes and the traditional stove, and the whole village atmosphere felt very familiar."

Chinmayee further said, "The shooting workload was very heavy, but it did not feel stressful or hectic at all. It felt like we had come to the village for Ganpati holidays. All of us had a lot of fun and enjoyed the shoot thoroughly. Right now we are at the Parab family's house in the village. Just like people working outside take leave for Ganpati and go to their village, we all came to the village in the same way."

Chinmayee also said that some members of the Khanolkar family will be part of this special track, which could lead to some interesting developments later in the serial. However, she declined to share more details. She said, "Some members of the Khanolkar family are also part of this, so there will be some very interesting things to see ahead. I cannot reveal much about it, but viewers will definitely like this track a lot."

Speaking about the shooting experience in Konkan, Chinmayee also mentioned the difficulties caused by rain there. She said, "Konkan's rain can start or stop at any time. So our shoot was, to some extent, dependent on the weather. The team was planning very well. Whenever it rained, the sequence or location would be changed accordingly to manage the shoot."

Since it was an outdoor shoot, the days were quite long. Usually the crew had to work 12 to 15 hours, and sometimes the shoot went on even longer. Because of the rain, there were several difficulties, from reaching the location to maintaining continuity. Takes had to be stopped whenever it suddenly started raining. But with the cooperation of the whole team, all these difficulties were overcome easily, Chinmayee said.

Because of the busy shooting schedule, there was not much time to go sightseeing, but the cast enjoyed themselves a lot in between work. Particularly on the last day of the shoot, while filming at the beach, the whole team had a lot of fun. Chinmayee also shared an interesting anecdote: "The food there was excellent, and bhajans, aarti and a double-round session were organised. The whole unit enjoyed it thoroughly. We actually danced till five in the morning, and despite having a call time of eight-thirty the next day, everyone was still full of energy."

Konkan's beautiful natural surroundings, the village people, the traditional way of celebrating Ganeshotsav and the enthusiasm around it are what make this Ganeshotsav track on Sanai Chaughade special. What exactly happens while the Parab and Khanolkar families stay in the village will now be a matter of interest for viewers.
