The couple bought their new home in Mumbai last year. It is not a large bungalow or a luxurious flat, but a simple, beautiful and calming home built to their taste. The house measures about 1,500 square feet, and its decor is striking enough to hold anyone's attention.

The best part of the house is its blend of old-world and modern looks. Near the kitchen door, there is a railing-like structure reminiscent of an earlier era. In the middle of the hall stands a large teak wood pillar that gives the feel of an old mansion. Cupboards have been built into the walls themselves, so no space is wasted.

The hall's cabinet has open-grain veneer, giving it a raw, natural look. The walls have not been painted by machine but hand-brushed, giving them a distinct texture. The flooring is also different, with grey and white cement tiles laid out to resemble a chessboard. The house is done mainly in beige and off-white, with touches of red and green here and there that give it a lively feel.

The standout feature of the house is a swing in the hall. Sitting on it in the evening, one can hear birds chirping outside, smell flowers, and feel completely at peace. Finding such calm in a crowded city like Mumbai is itself a matter of good fortune. Interestingly, the house does not have a large dining table. Instead, there is a small breakfast counter attached to the kitchen, where the couple sit together for tea, meals and conversation. Not having a separate dining table makes the house feel more open and spacious.

The home has been designed by well-known architect Satyajit Patwardhan, who also shared the pictures and details of the house. He said Priya and Umesh wanted a home that was simple, yet one that carried memories of their childhood. The pictures are now doing the rounds on social media, with people commenting on how simple the home is despite the couple being such big stars, with no ostentation, no gold or silver, just wood, hand-painted walls and plenty of natural light.

Italian marble and expensive fittings are the trend in interior design today, but Priya and Umesh have shown that a home is made beautiful not by costly things but by heart. Their home has love, memories and peace, which is why it is being so widely admired.
