Agniveer trainee, 20, found dead in barrack at Nashik Road Artillery Centre

A 20-year-old trainee soldier training to become an Agniveer died in his barrack at the Artillery Centre in Nashik Road early on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Ashwin M, who was undergoing Agniveer training at the centre and was staying in an Army barrack during the training period.

On Thursday morning, Ashwin was found in a critical condition in the barrack. Fellow trainees noticed this first and immediately informed the staff present there. He was rushed without delay to the military hospital at Deolali Camp for treatment. Doctors examined him on arrival but declared him dead. Lieutenant Colonel Pankaj Kumar examined Ashwin and declared him dead, according to information received.

On learning of the incident, the suburban police registered a case. A case of sudden death has been registered at the police station, and police head constable Jhade is investigating the matter. The exact cause of Ashwin's death has not yet been established. There is no confirmed information yet about the circumstances that led to this final outcome, and police are trying to get to the bottom of the entire sequence of events.
