Knife attack over old car dispute in Nanded, sickle killing in Jamkhed
Two separate violent incidents in Maharashtra left one youth injured in Nanded and a milk delivery driver dead in Jamkhed
A 20-year-old man was attacked with a knife outside a novelty shop in the Wazirabad market area of Nanded on September 10, in a dispute over an old car. Police said the Wazirabad Crime Detection Team arrested the accused within 24 hours.
The injured youth, Akshay Lakshman Dubukwad, 20, a resident of Naveen Hassapur, Bhoi Galli, Waghi Road, Nanded, was seriously hurt and is being treated at the government hospital in Vishnupuri. A case has been registered at Wazirabad police station under case number 464/2026, under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. During the investigation, police detained and arrested Kartik Bhagwan Bhise, 18, a resident of Panchsheelnagar, Khadakpura, Nanded. The accused was produced in court, which remanded him to three days of police custody until September 14, 2026. The case is being investigated further by Assistant Police Inspector Turner.
Meanwhile, a shocking incident occurred in broad daylight in Jamkhed taluka. A milk delivery driver was attacked with a sickle near Jategaon Fata, close to Kharda, around 9:15 am on Friday, the 11th. The seriously injured driver died while being taken for treatment. The daylight murder caused shock in the entire area. The deceased was identified as Tanaji Bhaskar Borate, 40, a resident of Malewadi, Bhoom taluka.
Borate drove a pickup vehicle (MH 12 KP 5626) belonging to Kailas Dharma Alhat of Malewadi and used to bring collected milk to Kharda every day. On Friday too, he had arrived with milk as usual. It is being said that some unidentified people had called him near Jategaon Fata, where an argument broke out between Borate and the suspects over some matter. During the altercation, one of the accused struck Borate on the neck with a sickle, and he collapsed, covered in blood. The accused fled after the attack. On receiving news of the incident, Assistant Police Inspector Ujjwalsingh Rajput of Kharda police station formed teams and began searching for the accused.
