First phase of Bharat Mata temple in Nandapur complete, unveiling on Sept 28
The idol installation and unveiling at the Bharat Mata temple near Nandapur will take place on September 28.
The first phase of the grand Shri Bharat Mata temple being built along the Samruddhi Mahamarg at Nandapur, an initiative inspired by the "nation first" vision of P.P. Sadguru H.B.P. Dr. Bhagwan Baba Anandgadkar of Deulgaon Raja, has been completed. In this first phase, the idol of Bharat Mata will be installed and unveiled. Dr. Bhagwan Baba Anandgadkar, president of the Bharat Mata temple, has appealed to all patriotic citizens to attend the ceremony in large numbers.
The unveiling ceremony of Shri Bharat Mata temple is scheduled for Monday, September 28, 2026, at 3.30 pm. The unveiling will be performed by Bhaiyyaji Joshi, member of the central executive of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, while the event will be presided over by successful industrialist and social worker Ghanshyam Sheth Goyal.
The grand temple will have a total height of more than 100 feet. A hall of about 4,000 square feet has been built on the temple premises, where a grand 5-foot-tall idol of Bharat Mata is being installed. The installation and unveiling of this idol is the first phase of the project.
The same large hall in the temple will also house an exhibition of photographs of various events from the freedom struggle, along with a library. The main aim behind this project is to inform coming generations about the country's freedom struggle and the sacrifices of revolutionaries and martyrs.
The temple's design will also reflect several aspects of Indian culture and architecture. The building will feature a replica of the Red Fort, the wheel of the Konark temple, the arches of the Ajanta caves, and features of construction styles from South and North India.
Rashtramata (motherland), Gomata (cow) and Gangamata (the Ganga) have been accorded the status of motherhood in the scriptures. The idea behind the project is to showcase the glory of Bharat Mata, which is founded on the values of equality and social harmony.
The Bharat Mata temple project has been conceived with the aim that the young generation should be able to identify the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed everything in the freedom struggle and dedicated their entire lives to Bharat Mata, and that the youth may draw inspiration from their sacrifice to kindle the flame of patriotism.
The project has been set up with the aim that the idea that "devotion to the nation is devotion to God" should take root in everyone's mind, and that everyone should get the opportunity to serve at the feet of Bharat Mata. Dr. Bhagwan Baba Anandgadkar, president of the Bharat Mata temple, has appealed that everyone join this national endeavour in their own way and cooperate in responsibly completing this divine work.
