Nayanthara's 'Mookuthi Amman 2' teaser out, releases November 6

Nayanthara, known as the "lady superstar" of South cinema, is set to appear on the big screen as the divine and fierce form of the goddess Mahashakti. The sequel to the 2020 super-hit Tamil film 'Mookuthi Amman' is titled 'Mookuthi Amman 2 - Rise of Mahashakti', and its teaser has just been released. The nearly two-and-a-half-minute teaser combines mythological storytelling, devotion and action.

The teaser, titled "Rise of Mahashakti", depicts a world set in an older era. There is panic in a village and a young prince's life is in danger. An enemy prince is seen advancing on the village to kill him.

To save her son's life, a mother prays before an idol of the goddess Mookuthi Amman, that is, Mahakali. She pleads with the goddess to save her son and is even ready to give up her own life for it.

The teaser then takes a shocking turn. To save her son's life, the mother offers her own life to the goddess. Following this sacrifice, the story turns towards a major battle.

In the final few seconds of the teaser, Nayanthara's divine and fierce avatar as Mahakali appears. The goddess's form manifests because of the mother's devotion and sacrifice, and she stands against the forces threatening the family. The scale and action shown in these closing seconds are drawing attention. The teaser also shows a battlefield, a royal throne, cavalry and scenes of a major battle, making clear that the film will feature a large-scale clash between the forces of good and evil.

Nayanthara's 2020 film 'Mookuthi Amman' was a comedy-drama based on the relationship between a goddess and ordinary humans.
