MPSC Group C prelims postponed again, now on January 3, 2027
MPSC has again postponed its Group C combined preliminary exam, now scheduled for January 3, 2027 instead of October 25, 2026.
The Maharashtra Public Service Commission, or MPSC, has postponed the Maharashtra Group C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2026, which was to be held on October 25, 2026. The commission issued an official press note on its website.
An earlier corrigendum issued on July 16, 2026 had said the exam would be held on October 25, 2026 in the old offline OMR-based format. That schedule has now been changed, and the exam will instead be held on January 3, 2027 at all district centres across the state.
The commission cited several administrative reasons for the postponement, including the availability of exam sub-centres in different districts and local conditions there, arrangements for transport so that candidates can reach centres on time and safely, and information received from the concerned district administrations based on reports from some districts.
The commission also said the decision was taken to balance the schedule with the State Services (Main) Examination 2026, the upcoming festival season, the examination timetables of other recruitment bodies, and the winter session of the legislature.
The commission said the decision was taken to ensure the exam is conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner. Details of exam centres, admit cards, exam timing, information related to each exam centre and all other details will be released on MPSC's official website in due course. All candidates have been asked to note the revised exam date and keep checking the commission's website for updates. The appeal was made by Deputy Secretary Vivek Deshmukh through the press note.
