With Ganesh Chaturthi just days away, a new song from the upcoming Marathi film Maitreya has been released. The Ganpati song, titled Tujhe Naav Gheta, is drawing attention for its dhol-tasha beats, devotional mood and energetic dance.
The song is picturised on the film's characters Samar, Ayushi, Sky and Ruchi. While the festive setting and lively beats give it a celebratory feel, the real highlight is that the film's director, Kranti Redkar Wankhede, and actress Urmila Kanetkar appear dancing together in the song, marking their reunion on screen after a long time.
The lyrics for Tujhe Naav Gheta have been written by Guru Thakur, with music composed by Pankaj Padghan. The song has been sung by Shivam Singh and Apoorva Nishad.
Speaking about the song, Kranti Redkar Wankhede said, "The bond between Lord Ganpati and Marathi people is very special. So while making Tujhe Naav Gheta, we wanted it to have devotion, but also the joy, energy and festivity of the Ganpati celebrations." She added, "Pankaj Padghan's music, Guru Thakur's lyrics and the voices of Shivam Singh and Apoorva Nishad have come together beautifully. Urmila and I dancing together after such a long time is a very special experience for me too."
Composer Pankaj Padghan said he tried to bring together tradition and a sound that today's generation would enjoy, so that the song reflects both devotion to Ganpati and festive celebration. The dance sequence featuring Kranti Redkar and Urmila Kanetkar is expected to be another key attraction of the song, which is expected to resonate with audiences during the Ganesh festival.
Maitreya, produced by Samar Times Production, has been written and directed by Kranti Redkar Wankhede. Manoj Khalatkar is the producer and Aman Khalatkar is the co-producer. The film's lead roles are of Samar, Ayushi, Sky and Ruchi. Following the release of Tujhe Naav Gheta, anticipation for the film has grown further. Maitreya is set to release in theatres on October 23.
