Maharashtra plans a mega recruitment drive for close to 8,100 police posts in 2027, with online forms likely from December.
A major update has come for youths preparing for police recruitment in Maharashtra. The state is likely to recruit for around 8,100 police posts in 2027. According to information received, all posts falling vacant up to June 2027 may be included in this recruitment.
The state's home department has sought details from the police department of all posts falling vacant up to June 2027. Details being received from various units and districts are being compiled at the state level. Only after this will the final schedule of the recruitment be decided.
According to reports, the process of filling online forms for this proposed recruitment may begin in the new year, that is, from December. Application dates are likely to be kept between December 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026. The recruitment process may then proceed between January 1, 2027 and March 31, 2027.
Vacant posts from various districts will be included in this proposed recruitment. According to information received, around 117 police posts are likely to be filled in Solapur district. How many posts will be filled in the remaining districts will become clear only after the government finalises the recruitment plan.
Details of how many vacancies there will be for each post in this recruitment, category-wise reservation, educational qualification, age limit, exam pattern and physical test will be made known only after the official notification is issued. Candidates are therefore advised not to rely on any unofficial information and to wait for the official government announcement.
