Kia India, the mass-premium carmaker, has announced pre-bookings for three new vehicles: the Carens CNG, the Carens Clavis CNG and the Carnival Limousine Hybrid. This expands the company's multi-powertrain portfolio and gives customers more options to choose from.

All three vehicles were showcased at Kia's recent Inspiration Day. The company says the models are meant to offer different mobility solutions in line with changing customer preferences. The Carens and Carens Clavis get a CNG option, while the Carnival Limousine gets a hybrid powertrain.

The Carens and Carens Clavis CNG, built on the G1.5 6MT engine, come with a factory-fitted CNG kit with a 60-litre tank capacity, adding another powertrain option to Kia's three-row lineup. Both models get 16-inch wheels and 16-inch disc brakes, along with engine calibration tuned for CNG and improved suspension. A 4.2-inch colour TFT MID with a CNG fuel-change switch and CNG DTE logic is meant to improve the driving experience on CNG. Both models also get an improved third-row seat-back frame for a better recline angle and more comfortable travel.

The Carens CNG will be offered in the Premium (O) G1.5 6MT variant, while the Carens Clavis CNG will be available in HTE and HTE (O) G1.5 6MT variants. For B2B (business-to-business) and commercial mobility needs, the Carens CNG will be offered in the M-Drive G1.5 6MT variant and the Carens Clavis CNG in the HTM G1.5 6MT variant.

The Carnival Limousine Hybrid, built on the G1.6T HEV 6AT engine, will be offered in the Limousine+ trim, adding an electrified powertrain option to Kia's premium MPV portfolio. This hybrid model gets 18-inch (45.72 cm) crystal-cut dual-tone arrow alloy wheels, Active Air Flaps (AAF) and a Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS), offering premium comfort and a more spacious feel.

The vehicle also gets features such as a Smart Pure Air Purifier with an AQI display, a retractable and height-adjustable seat-back table with wireless charging, monotone ambient lighting, cup holders and leatherette-wrapped door trim.

With these new vehicles, Kia India has taken another step in its multi-powertrain strategy. The company says it has added hybrid and factory-fitted CNG options to its portfolio keeping in mind the diverse and changing mobility needs of customers in India. Pre-bookings for the Kia Carens CNG, Clavis CNG and Carnival Limousine Hybrid are now open through Kia India's official dealer network. Prices for all three vehicles will be announced soon.
