Nagpur District Bar Association's new team to be sworn in on September 11

The newly elected executive committee of the Nagpur District Bar Association for 2026 will be formally installed at an oath and felicitation ceremony on Friday, September 11. The association's new office-bearers and members will take charge on the day.

The event will be held at 6.15 pm at Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Sabhagriha in Civil Lines. It will be attended by several well-known figures from the judiciary, the legal profession and the administration.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be the chief guest at the ceremony, while former Chief Justice of India Justice Bhushan R. Gavai will preside over the event.

Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Maharashtra Law and Judiciary Minister Ashish Jaiswal, administrative judge of the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court Justice Anil Kilor, and Principal District and Sessions Judge M. S. Azmi will attend as special guests.

The programme will formally welcome and felicitate the new office-bearers and members of the District Bar Association. The new team, led by president Advocate Prakash S. Jaiswal and general secretary Advocate Anil H. Gulhane, will formally take charge of their responsibilities at the ceremony and begin their term.

The new executive is expected to focus on issues related to lawyers, court facilities, professional interests and coordination between the bar and the bench, matters that directly concern the day-to-day work of Nagpur's lawyers.

The presence of senior judiciary and government officials is expected to lend further significance to the event, which will mark the formal start of the new executive's term and underline the need for stronger coordination between the bar and the bench.
